Why patients choose First Steps
We start by listening to your history, your goals, your pace and then map the simplest plan that fits. Next, we run the right labs and a pelvic ultrasound to get a clear picture. When it’s time to try, we help you nail the timing for intercourse or IUI and send friendly reminders. Throughout, we review results quickly, adjust as needed, and keep you confident about what comes next. Ready to take your first step? Schedule Online or call our clinic at (206) 900-6220
Fertility Clinic Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule a fertility assessment?
If you are under 35, we recommend scheduling after 12 months of trying. If you are 35 or older, come in after 6 months. You can also schedule sooner if your cycles are irregular or if you already know of possible fertility factors. We’ll help you decide what testing makes sense for your situation.
Is HyFoSy different from HSG?
Yes. The HyFoSy (hysterosalpingo-foam sonography) uses gentle ultrasound contrast instead of X-ray or iodine dye. It checks whether the fallopian tubes are open and typically feels less uncomfortable than a traditional HSG. Results are reviewed right away so you know where things stand before you leave.
Do you offer partner and donor IUI?
Yes. We perform both partner and donor IUI (intrauterine insemination). We coordinate your monitoring, timing, and luteal phase support. For donor sperm, we work with most U.S. sperm banks, including Seattle Sperm Bank and Cascade Cryobank in the Seattle area, both of which offer local shipping and screening options.
Can I get a consult before testing?
Yes. You can schedule a free phone consultation or an in-clinic visit to discuss your goals, medical history, and next steps. We’ll review what to expect from a fertility assessment and whether lower-tech options are a good fit for you.
What happens after a positive pregnancy test?
Once you have a positive test, we continue care through early pregnancy. We provide timely labs, ultrasounds, and guidance through 8 to 10 weeks, then coordinate a smooth handoff to your OB or midwife for prenatal care.
Do you accept insurance?
We are in-network with several commercial insurance plans and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. We’re not contracted with United Health, Cigna, Molina, or Apple plans, but self-pay options are available for all services. Transparent pricing is listed on our website.
Where is your clinic located?
We’re located at 111 Sunset Ave N, Suite 201, Edmonds, WA 98020, just north of the ferry terminal. Free reserved and street parking are available. Please note that our suite is on the second floor and accessible by stairs only.
Do you see patients from outside Edmonds?
Yes. We regularly see patients from Lynnwood, Shoreline, Mountlake Terrace, Everett, and North Seattle who prefer a more personal, lower-tech approach to fertility care.
How long is the first appointment?
Initial fertility consultations typically last 45–60 minutes. This allows time to review your history, discuss goals, and create a personalized plan. If labs or ultrasounds are ordered, we’ll schedule them promptly.
